BALTIMORE, MD, November 18, 2024 — Cornell University researcher J.G. “Jim” Dai has been awarded the 2024 John von Neumann Theory Prize by INFORMS, the leading international association for professionals in operations research, analytics, management science and other related fields, for his groundbreaking contributions to the fields of operations research and analytics. The John von Neumann Theory Prize is one of INFORMS’ highest honors, awarded annually to recognize contributions that have stood the test of time for their significance, innovation, depth and scientific excellence.

Kimball Medal for her long, tireless and visionary contributions to the operations research and management science (OR/MS) profession. The President’s Award recognizes important contributions to the welfare of society by members of the profession at the local, national or global level. The George E. Kimball Medal is awarded for recognition of distinguished service to INFORMS and the OR/MS profession.
