Nominations for this award will be accepted until April 15, 2015. Nominations should meet the following criteria:
- The nominated publication should be on an iFORM subject;
- It must have been published after January 1, 2012;
- It must have been written in the English language;
- It must have been published in the open literature.
Nominations should be mailed to the Chair of the Award Committee ([email protected]) and will be handled as confidential input to be used only for the purposes of this award. Self-nominations are welcome. Each nomination should contain the following information:
- Name, affiliation and email address of the nominator(s).
- Bibliographic reference of the nominated paper, and a PDF file with the paper.
- Statement of support for the nomination – the nominator(s) should discuss why the nominated work deserve the iFORM best paper award including the significance of its current and future contribution to the theory and practice of operations and supply chain management with regard to the interface of finance, operations, and risk management. The length of a typical nomination is one page.
The Awards Committee will use the following criteria:
- The extent to which the work advances the state of the art of iFORM research.
- The originality of the ideas or methods.
- The new areas of application it opens.
- The degree to which existing theory or method is unified or simplified.
- The clarity and excellence of the exposition.
- The degree to which the nominated work will enhance future applications, or otherwise improve professional practice.
Using the criteria above, the committee will select the winner of the award which will be presented at the 2015 M&SOM Business Meeting at the FALL INFORMS Conference in Philadelphia. The author(s) of the Best Paper will receive a $500 cash award and a commemorative plaque or certificate.
